Madison/Dane County distressed property index dips below 24% in June

The Dane County Distressed Property Index was 23.9% in June. June was the sixth month in a row with a reading below 30% and the second straight month below 25%. Here’s how the distressed property index has been trending since 2006.

This is a positive sign for our market, but we expect the index to remain at elevated levels through at least 2013. That’s because Dane County foreclosures have been quietly increasing this year.

If you are interested in purchasing a distressed property, we have five foreclosure search tools to assist you with your bank owned (REO) and short sale property search. All five tools are available on our property search menu as well as our foreclosures menu at DaneCountyMarket.com.
