Dane County’s Distressed Property Index for October

The October Dane County Distressed Property Index was 22.3% – down from a value of 31.5% in October of 2011 – and up from 21.8% the previous month. The index rose slightly from September due to a jump in foreclosure filings during the first half of this year.

Our data tracks back to January of 2006, when the index stood at 5%. Note from the graph below the index had grown steadily over time as Dane County foreclosure filings increased greatly, peaking in 2010.
