Dane County condo sales increased by over 30% in 2012, due in large part to the attractiveness of much lower condo prices.
Our 2012 Dane County condo price index decreased by 5.4% from 2011 and by 19.4% from the peak years of 2006 and 2007. By many measures, the 2012 sales year was a much better year for condo sellers, but buyers continued to get better prices.
With lower inventories and rising demand, we expect the Dane County condo market to improve in many ways during the 2013 sales year, including a movement toward price stabilization. We’ll keep you posted throughout the year.
